    CA - Legal Barret....

What options are available for a Barret semi auto in CA after the ban? I'm only interested in a legal and Barret semi.

Is there a bullet button for them?

What Barret are you talking about?

If it's anything .50 cal, isn't going to happen. The caliber is considered an AW now.

If you want a Rec 7(6.8 SPC), then all that would be needed is a Mag Lock device and a 10 round magazine.

All their other offering .338 Lapua and .416 seem to be in bolt action only.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

Since you will be spending anywhere from 4,000-8,000 (not including glass)for a Barrett spending a bit more to get a custom made bullet button shouldn't be a big deal.

Barrett makes a couple rifles in other than .50 BMG. Off the top of my head they make a .416 Barret and .338 LM. (oops, in bolt only I guess) ^^^

Just before the .50 BMG ban of 05', Barrett released a CA legal semi auto, fixed 10 round mag version of their rifle. It was even CA DOJ approved, but you did have to register it as an AW in 05'. With a crap load of money, you could have another one built, but in .510 DTC.

So the model 99 and the .338 are CA legal? is the round impressive as the .50 is?

Is the 510 DTC EUROP as nice as the Barret. Rifle and round?

The 99 is a bolt action rifle, so it would be legal in .416. The 338 is legal also, it is specifically the .50 BMG round that is now considered an AW here in California. So it's not the rifles per say, but the round.

As for the .338 being as impressive as the .50 BMG, if you mean by sheer size then No, but it's not a wimpy round itself.

I would consider the .50 BMG more of an anti material round, and the 338 anti personnel. Both will kill at long range, but maybe you want to destroy that truck too?

Actually the law specifies .50 BMG RIFLES, not the round itself. A .50BMG non-rifle (M2HB) is legal according to the law.

How about a rifle chambered to shoot a .50 bmg. We can agree on that.

I didn't mean the actual .50 BMG round itself, I meant a gun that shoots .50 BMG.

If the rounds were illegal, then I wouldn't see them at all the gun stores I go to.
