Probably not, I speculate the deserts of Iraq, and Afghanistan get as hot as the dryer.

I believe the cook off temp for .223 would be between 300 to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and at that point only the brass would rupture relieving any significant force to propel the bullet, except when the primer detonates before the powder, then you are looking at about 250 to 300 FPS on the bullet, in tests performed to determine cook off it was rare for the primer to detonate. Lethal, maybe, doubt it.

I wouldn't shoot it without measuring OAL. The bullet might have gotten pushed in and can cause high pressure.

                How did pocket hold up?
'Cuz big holes are easier to see.

Pocket was fine. It was bouncing around in the dryer.

OAL test is a good one. I wouldn't be too worried about moisture as the primer sealant should work pretty well, assuming these are factory rounds.

If you put a round on your dash, rool your windows up and park it in Death Valley in the middle of summer, it will not go off. Ammo needs far more than 200 degrees to ignite.

Even if it do go off, nothing would have happened. You have to have the round forced down a barrel for it to be dangerous. The shell casing would have more energy that the round as it is lighter.

                          Thank god for mythbusters

Hatcher did the test long before Mythbusters with a .45 ACP round on a bar of soap; nothing but a slight indent. I admit, I washed some .22lr before.
