In San Bernardino Co, if you go north on 395, once you get past (north of) Hwy 58 you can target shoot with rifle/pistol/shotgun. Going north on I-15 the boundary is Hwy 40.
Of course make sure your not on private property.

I'd take you to my secret BLM spot but you would have to wear a blindfold on the way in and out. and I would have to confiscate your GPS.

Looks like the OP is not going to get a lot of answers. Here's what I suggest. Get resourceful, and get out and do the research yourself. Before Calguns existed, I used to go to the library to study maps of BLM and other public lands. I made phone calls. I did all the legwork the old fashioned way. Why not do this yourself, and walk away satisfied that you found your own spot?

Also, sorry, I don't live in your area so I can't help you specifically find spots where you live.. good luck

Umm, have you not heard of what happens to free ranges that get too much "public attention"?

gun owners are the only people that will claim to support everyones right to keep and bear arms, but when people ask where one can go to practice without getting hasseled will not trust you to do so responsibly

instead of having a hand full of PUBLIC places on PUBLIC property that local agencies are well aware of, instead we ask each other to root around for your own among information that is out of date, in areas that are unmarked

So, can anyone PM me about ranges close to the San Fernando Valley?

Just interested in knowing what would be the closest one to me, you don't have to tell me where just name a city or off of this city, I am just really interested where would be the closest land to me that I can feel free to shoot any gun at any rate and any ammo... let me know

I do feel your pain here but you have to understand that not all public land shooters are that responsible. Many of these dirt bags go and just dump their trash there or shoot at structures that should not be shot at. Then these places that have been open for years get shut down.

There are several threads here on CGN that give good tips on where to look. Here's another one. Calico. Don't be lazy and put in some work driving around there and explore a little bit and I am positive you can find more than one place to legally shoot out there.
