I was just about to post this thread lol. Good thing i skimmed the threads to make sure i didn't put up a dupe. The article doesn't really say much about anything that we don't know already, but it's still funny that they JUST put this article up. Maybe it's just me, but I already noticed that it's already starting to get easier to get ammo.

If the numbers are correct from the NRA 7 billion rounds usually sold. Now at 9 billion rounds per year. How can 28% increase collapse the system. Sounds like crap to me.Comment

Because it all happened at the same time. Ammo was already stretched a bit thin and then you get a "run" on the ammo.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"

The article stated that folks are worried about Obama taking away/banning/restricting ammo sales but no such bill has been passed yet. They failed to mention how Obama's circus clown Pelosi stated on national tv that "it's going to be hard to get the guns, so we'll go after the ammo. Or how Clinton blamed the violent crimes committed by the Mexican drug cartels on availability of "assault rifles" manufactured in the US to them & that's why she thought we should reinstate the 94 ban. Sure, everyone is worried about nothing.

I'm with you to a certain extent a1fabweld, but do you really think this ammo hoarding crap is going to do anything? It's just making it hard for everyone in the long run, and in the grand scheme of things it's self imposed gun control. Yes there is a definite possibility of more gun control with a Democratic administration and congress. But there is still no concrete plan, and even if there was, panic is never the becoming option for a politically minded movement. Cooler heads are the only ones that prevail, and going out and buying all the ammo Wal-Mart has does nothing for the cause; it is irresponsible and short sighted.
Not to mention how flawed a plan it is. The entire premise of mega ammo hoarding as a concept is this super worst case scenario where ammo and guns are banned. If the government gets that aggro do you really think they're going to just go, "Well I see you have a couple billion rounds of ammo there... Smart move guys, you beat us to the punch." No, the government that has the power to do something so drastic as, say, ban all ammo and guns, has more than enough power to confiscate it all regardless of when you bought it. The government even now has more than enough power, including manpower, to do just that and what's worse they've had it for decades.
The solution to this problem is protest and political activism. We don't affect political change by taking a U-Haul down to the gun store for a shopping spree. All we do that way is screw up the gun economy, hurting ourselves and everyone else whose pro-2A in the process. I think a person would be better served if they took the money they're blowing on an armory's worth of gear and donated it to the NRA and Calguns.Comment

I haven't seen ammo in the three wal-marts or two big 5s I visit in maybe 6 months. I have a friend that has been bribing a few wal-mart employees to hold all 9/40/45 ammo that comes in the door, so I can still get a hook up if i need it but damn it's rough.
The places I can still find it around me the cost has gone up almost 2x in the last year and a half or so. I still have reloading supplies for about 5k rounds but with 3 kids that like shooting this is expensive and time consuming. At least the 9 I I used to be able to buy 100 rounds for 12.99 or 14.97...

So I guess the smart thing to do is to sell most of my guns & ammo to free up the market? I saw that article too. While they're sort of right that we're short on "bullets" we're really also short on ammunition.
Leave it to the news to pander to the uneducated public.
