New(ish) shooter.Need Eye/Ear protection advice.

Hello,
I just recently purchased a 12 g shotgun and was wondering what some recommended eye and ear protection was. For ears I was thinking Surefire Sonic Ep4 but am worried that they will not cancel out everything. Also for eye protection I looked at the Elvex website. I also saw their ear muffs. So how do you guys feel about these brands and which others can you recommend.

I've just got the cheap Winchester muffs they sell at Wal mart, and those do me just fine. Also some cheap plugs for outdoor stuff.

and random, cheap, safety glasses that I wear at work all day long.

Edit: the only problem I run into, is sometimes the ear muffs push down on the part of the glasses that go over your ear, and it can get annoying if you are wearing them for long. Not sure if more expensive glasses/ear combos fix this, as I've run into it with borrowed pairs, too.

If you're just shooting a shotgun outdoors the foam earplugs provide plenty of protection and won't get in the way like muffs will.
