Blue Book Anyone?

Anyone have a current gun blue book handy that could lookup the going value of a Browning '72 A5 Mag 3" 12ga for me?

I did but the prices go from $425 to $895 (even one in the $1k). Granted most over $600 do not have bids on them, so that says a lot. My guess is around the $500 mark but would like to see what BB says as well.

That all depends... what condition? Original buttpad? Has the stock been chopped? What choke? Vented rib or not? What grade? How nice does the wood look?

There are a lot of factors that go into pricing A5s, Winchester Model 12's and a lot of other shotguns.

Vented rib or not? VENTED RIB
What grade? STD
How nice does the wood look? TYPICAL BROWNING - Nothing to note special.

Other than the above, it is the "magnum" 3" 28" barrel 12 ga.

Thanks for the info. The invector chokes are the Browning line of changable choke tubes. These didn't come out until 1976 and later. Does the BB show anything for the year? This was made in '72.

Sorry read more into that than I should have. Invector started in '76 with the Miroku guns, prior to that 58-76 they were FN made. So disregard the 10% as that applies to the 76 and on miroku's. Found another note to add 10-15% for a rounded knob pistol grip on the stock, only on the Fn's.

Sad A5 story Got a call a while back from a Pastor friend who asked me to clean up and look over an A5 that belonged to a guy who had died while on a camping trip with his two young sons. Guy just died in his sleep. We have the gun set aside for the day when we will take the oldest boy out to shoot it and ceremoniously hand it over to him "from" his dad.
