    New project, well semi new.

I didn't know where I should put this in, general or C&R, but I promised a member I post this so here it goes.

    Size reference with the Nagant.

The parts kit exploded with the new receiver and newly milled trunion.

    The company.

Ok now for the technical stuff.

The bolt has to be milled on the side enabling it to fit in the semiauto receiver as well as the rear of the bolt needs to be cut off to make the striker. Then the bolt needs to be drilled for firing pin.

The lower needs to be milled on the left hand side also for the semiauto receiver and have a blocking bar so that an unmodified trigger house cannot be used. Also there needs to be an other spring for the bolt striker and cup made.

This is what the bolt and lower need to be milled for, the receiver rail.

This the brand new trunion that needs to be welded to the receiver and the take down pivot hole needs to be deburred.

I forgot to take pics of the trigger housing and what needs to be done, but I'll post that later.

The barrel will be threaded and have the extension welded bring it to a 16” barrel.

That looks like a fun project. I don't think I have seen any PPSh builds on here.

How exactly do you modify an open bolt design to fire from a closed bolt (besides drilling out a channel for a firing pin)? Specifically, does someone make firing pins or do you use/modify one from another gun?

The closed bolt design is working off the SAS3 design.

Here is the build by PBB, I'm using this. WLA is making the receiver, bolt and trigger conversion, or a gunsmithing pakeage with everything but the parts kit.

That looks like it'll be a bit of work. Please post updates and a finished product!

Looks good, you are one of the first to get product. I would permanently extend the original barrel or discard it for constructive possession reasons.

I would encourage anyone getting surplus 'parts kits' for various guns to ensure they do not get anything construed to be full-auto MG stuff - that stuff should be picked out BEFORE it is sent to you if you already have a receiver/something nearly a receiver.

And make sure the idiots at the parts kit vendor know this - and that it is STATED ON THE SHIPPING INVOICE.

This is for ATF, not DOJ (though CA law generally mimics Fed law in these areas).

FAL kits don't really have this problem because the semi vs full issue is solved by the innards of the upper receiver (ejector block) etc.

Yeah, I mentioned about the extension at the bottom of the second post. I ordered some tubing for it and some bar stock for the trigger controls. I ground the feed lips off of the bolt last night as well. I don't have a mill in my apartment, but when I go home in March for spring break the whole gun should be done.

I like the Photoshoped revovler. I got a friend to cut out and remove all of metal guides and the spring from a drum out of state and I will be welding a CZ52 mag into it so it is not a hi-cap drum anymore.

Once this is done, the Beretta 38A, Soumi 31, and Lancasher well be next.

Well I got home and started on the receiver.

The takedown spring retainer needed to be punched out and shaped.

Next the under of the rear of the receiver needed to be beveled for the takedown cover.

I then started to remove the rivets from the rear sights.
