    Glock 3.5 lb trigger question

I've had my Glock 17 a while now, but I'm not sure about what it takes to change the trigger weight to 3.5 lb. Does anything else besides the 3.5 lb Connector need to be changed to change the trigger weight to 3.5 lb? My pistol is broken in and the trigger seems to be easier to pull than when new, so will the trigger seem too easy to pull if changed to 3.5lb?. Thanks for your input.

it really depends on your pref. My bro has the 3.5 connecter and the NY trigger spring. It lightened the pull and reset felt different. I didn't like it at all. If I had more rounds thru it and learned the new "break" point, I might get use to it, but I felt stock was better. You can always give it a try, it's not that expensive.

The 3.5# connector does not yield to a 3.5# pull. It's more like a 4.5# with everything else the same. I have a LWD 3.5# connector on my G17 and liked it a lot. Not whole lot of difference between the stock but the change is noticeable.

"Too light trigger" is not in my vocabulary.

Maybe if it was 1 lb, but not 3.5 lbs. That's just nice.

You don't have to change anything else but the connector. Glock triggers all have slightly different feels depending on how your parts mesh up, changing the connector may change the feel somewhat. Many people feel the the 3.5 connector yields a bit of a "mushy" feeling aka a less crisp trigger break.

As noted above, the trigger pull is not dictated by the connector alone, so don't expect a 3.5 pound break.

Where are you located? I have a 3.5# trigger in my 17. If you are in the San Jose Area, I'd be glad to meet up with you and let you try it out. (Yes its just an excuse to shoot)

I forgot to mention. I purchased a whole trigger drop in unit from glockmeister.com, can't remember the price. It was super easy to install, took about 5 minutes to drop the sucker in and I was done.

I have the GhostInc 3.5LB rocket in my 3rd Gen G17. It made a noticeable difference in pull weight and reset, but nothing I didn't get used to in a few hundred rounds. It's really easy to put in by yourself, and real easy to swap back if you can't stand it!

                    it is possible

It is possible to get a 3.5 pull from a glock but it isnt the pull weight that make most people throw gnarly patterns it is the amount of trigger movement that glocks posess. They move a friggin mile. Where are you located? I have one I did trigger work on and shortened the length of travel and i love it. I also did the same to jeffrice6's glock 17 he like it alot. I have a g35 I shoot in IDPA and as long as you install the 3.5 connector, polish everything and keep it all within the dimensions and dont round anything out, and reduce the length of pull you will see it as a whole different animal.

What kind of adjustments did u make to shorten the length of pull? I'm interested in knowing and trying that out.

                      Thanks

                        shortening pull

you pin the safety slot so the cruciform just sits on both sides of the safety portions of the plastic housing. I will email you pics if you want.

I posted a "How-to" on shortening the pull on a glock about a year ago on this board and people just about bit my head off . If you want to read it you can search for it.

I live in South Orange County.

Reply to where I live: I live in South Orange County -- too far from San Jose, but I appreciate the offer. Gun people are generous. Shortening the trigger travel sounds like it might improve the pull. Does that involve much work?
