So, if I understand it correctly Angeles Shooting Range doesn't allow Wolf ammo? It is magnetic after all? So where you people shooting AKs?
Or 7.62x54R chambered rifles? I think that 7.62x54R milsurp also magnetic?

They allow wolf as long as is it lead core and copper jacketed. It exists but costs a bit more. There is some 7.62x54r surplus at AIM for sale that is said to be lead core but check with them.

Wolf in the yellow box is okay to shoot at angeles. Black box and military classic wolf have bimetal jackets that are magnetic, which cannot be used at Angeles.

I thought angeles range didn't care about Steel cases... thought they didn't want steel core bullets.

They run a magnet over the bullet itself. If the bullet itself is magnetic then they get mad.

To my knowledge... wolf doesn't make any steel core/steel coated ammo.

steel casing is ok! they are only concerned in the bullet itself. sparks may cause a fire if you are using steel core to shoot at the steel plates the have.

The part I find funny about the spark theory is this, if they don't want sparks to start a fire why don't they clear the brush from around the targets.

I agree...but, actually it's bullets hitting in the impact area, not the target area..but yes.. the ranges need to get their head out of their collective a**es and clear the brush out..... DUH!!!!!

Last time i checked there was no brush around the metal targets. The biggest problem we have is the bullet passing through a target and hitting a rock or people shooting directly at rocks. And yes we do allow wolf ammo and sell wolf ammo for both the 7.62 39 and 54.

So Wolf in the black boxes are NOT OK at Angeles? I just picked up 400+ rounds of 7.62X39. That's a bummer.

Speaking from my buying of wolf in the past, all the wolf .223 that I have bought in the past is non-magnetic, but all the wolf .762X39 in the black box is magnetic(bi-metal jacket), like was said earlier, only wolf yellow box for AK & SKS (.762X39) at angeles. I went thru this 6 months ago during the commie ammo drought. I bought a ton before the prices went super high. Guess where it was cheapest?, ANGELES!!. I was paying 3 something a box, now it is 6 something . These "F"ing ammo price swings are worse than pot prices in the 70's! .

I go there all the time. They have black box Wolf ammo in the office for sale, but it is not the steel core.

Don't take M855 penetrators to Angeles though.
