Looks like some kind of an anti-tank rifle, maybe WWII? Does anyone have specifics?

Almost looks lik a DShK. Russian anti-aircraft machine gun that is used as a direct fire weapon on the ground.

The taliban have them. they suck.

Well, it looks like a fat guy standing in the weeds in front of a Ford holding some huge gun-thingy.

It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

looks like a "before photo" to accompany a Darwin award article. "His last words: "Hey, watch this!""

                          RE:Anti-Tank rifle

That is a 20mm Lathi, no doubt about, the muzzle break is a dead giveaway.I used to go with Dave Clumberland at cannon shoots. We used to shoot off anything up to a civil war 12pdr, twice a year.I never owned of these cause i could not stand the recoil, kicks like a mule. You could buy one these for $200 pre-1968. A friend of mine was hurt watching one of these things when a piece of rotating band came off thru the muzzle break and hit him in the ankle.
