Fixed it for you. Also thanks for teasing us with things we cannot get here in the great state of CA. Really appreciate that.

Short of having a liscence to deal NFA or be LE, I don't see how anyone in the US can get that.

Where is it that you can fire that close to a structure outdoors?

You would be surprised at what you can LEGALLY purchase and own in the FREE AMERICA.

The G36 was developed in the early-mid 1990's. NFA laws prohibit importing select fire weapons for civilian sale after 1984, IIRC.

As stated above, unless you work for a LE Agency, or are a NFA licensed dealer selling to LE Agencies, you'll never get your hands on a select fire G36.

It *IS* a nice weapon though. I just with the stock was a little more comfortable to get a good cheek weld on it.

As Casual Observer said, after the '84 ban even "FREE AMERICA" can't get a hold of that.

Couldn't you get around that by getting a semiautomatic version only, then converting it to automatic with a registered part?

Please see this list for all the free states that allow MGs. If you're not a prohibited person you just need to submit the proper forms, have a background check including fingerprints and $200 fee to ATF and you're GTG. And it's not just for MGs it's also true for suppressors, SBRs, and others.

That list is also wrong for California, SBRs and SBS' aren't just 'yes', they're for C&R only to my understanding. Same for suppressors and MGs.

1- They don't make a semi-automatic G36. They are all select fire. The *DO* manufacture the SL8 rifle, which is to the G36 what the Mini-14 is to the M1 Garand.

You could get a SL8 and buy parts to convert it to a G36 "clone", but you'd spend a lot of money on that since some of the parts much be imported from Germany from HK.

2- To convert it to a select fire would require a new trigger group, which is a drop in unit on HK firearms. You couldn't import it from Germany for your own use.

That is assuming of course that you have an 02 FFL that allows for production of select fire weapons. Those are not very easy to get.

Like I said, unless you're in LE or a LE dealer, there's no way you're going to get your hands on a select fire G36.
