I was watching that the other night, quite interesting. Seems like if all the electronic stuff got too hot, cold, wet, etc that it would stop working quick.

Nope. You have any idea the temperature extremes under the hood of your car? Without all the electronics there, it'd quit working really quick.

Admittedly, some electronics are better than others. If guns go electronic, it may topple the German gunmakers (judging by how crappy their auto electronics are...).

I've been thinking about Metal Storm, and I don't think we'll ever get our hands on 'em. Not without repeal or major overhaul to the NFA. It'd be SOOO easy to convert one to full auto.

These things will definately be found on vehicular weapons systems soon, especially for point defense vs missiles etc.

But how do you reload such a thing? Wouldn't you need to switch barrels? Expensive for infantry arms.

The barrels would be reloadable.... at the factory.

Not the best for infantry... yet. Maybe viable for self-defense, excepting the NFA problems I see, and for vehicular systems, like you noted.

Actually, I did hear they developed one for infantry, it's a 3 shot 40mm GL. IIRC, it can be fired in a volley.
