The standard fee, which by law is all they can charge is $35.00 total for the entire transaction. You will pay no tax just the ppt.

Unlesssss you don't have your HSC which will cost another $25.00. I forgot about this.

PPT fee should not exceed $35. Any more and you should be taking your business elsewhere. You will also need to purchase a lock and present a receipt or buy it with the gun when you pick it up.

As far as the price for that gun, I couldn't say. I recommend you check places like Gunbroker.com to see what other folks are paying for them.

Good luck and welcome to the fun world of guns!

is a case necessary or just the lock?

It seems both those prices are fair - but would I be happier with the newer gun by paying 50 more dollars?

I think whether or not to buy new is really personal preference.

I like buying new autoloaders because a lot of times I won't be allowed to field strip a consignment or used gun before buying. A revolver though, I wouldn't think twice about buying used(In fact I just bought one used).

You will also have to go through the break-in period on your own, so you're not getting a gun that has already proven itself(again, personal preference).

As far as a case goes, most people will sell a gun to you with the case. However, as far as I know, it is not required by law to have a case, but I'd certainly recommend it!
