    Swiss Mausers K-31

I just picked up a Swiss Mauser from a friend and I don't know much about it.
I was hoping another member would know about them. This is one of the best looking ones I have ever seen it came with all matching numbers a barrel cap and the M-1914 bayonet. No rust on anything. If someone could tell me what I have here and how much it is worth that would be very helpful.

The pictures are off the internet but they look just like them.

    1st thing, it's not a Mauser.

Here is a good reference for all the K31. Awesome rifle often overlooked for the more infamous rifles of that era.

I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

    and

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

      like the guy above said: it's not a Mauser. It's a Schmidt-Rubin.

Another great resource, with very clear disassembly/reassembly instructions with pictures: http://surplusrifle.com/swissk31/index.asp (which is where you apparently got your k31 picture...)

K31 is my favorite surplus bolt action rifle. I don't remember having so much fun with others.

Look at where the magazine is to determine if it's a 1911 or a K31.

            1911:

              Is this a Picture of a K31 or a 1911?

My mag is about 2 3/4in in front of my trigger guard.

That's a picture of a K31. The 1911 carbine has a space of a couple inches between the trigger guard and the magazine, just like you describe on your rifle.

Ok so now I know I have a 1911. It is in great condition "no cracks only two small dings and all numbers match and no rust". How much is it worth with the bayonet and without.
The bayonet has no rust or dings on the whole thing. the scabbard has some suffice rust but no pitting.

I'm no expert on Swiss arms, but AIM Surplus is selling the K11 carbines for $350. That's the price FFL's pay to get them. And I've seen the bayonets sell for between $100 and $200, but there are probably all kinds of details I don't know about there that effect the price. But it's safe to say that what you have is worth at least $450.

Here are a few photos of some Swiss Schmidt-Rubin rifles. I did not include the 1911 carbine in this group of photos.

                            Watch like quality!!
