    Problems with The Tannery Shop?

Placed an order with The Tannery Shop (William Snelling at http://www.tanneryshop.com/) back in December. Money up front. No return calls or emails since. Now 3 months past longest estimated ship date. Still no return calls or emails. Anyone else had problems with him??

I am in the same boat with my taxidermist. I am still waiting on a hide I gave him in late December. Tanneries sometimes take a long time.

I wish this was that simple. This was not for tannery services but gun parts (around $2700) originally estimated 12-16 weeks - now going on 9 months!
All would be fine if he would pick up the phone when I call, call back, or email back... but not one single response??? That's not right. He is still actively selling items on gunbroker.net so i know he is alive and well.

Finally got a response!! Yay my faith is restored in the good people in this business. He had reasonable reasons for neglecting business for a bit - I can understand... As long as he comes through in sending my parts - all is good.

His ar15 80% receivers are quality. I had two and they are the shiznit.

He is/was also military, and in the past has had to take long periods of time off for that.
Lord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

OK well it's been almost a month since his last response saying "your orders will go out soon". Now, zero response again... and still nothing shipped. Hmmmmmm...

Rough times or not, he should reply about the outstanding order. Man, after almost a year? He's got a good chunk of this gentleman's money.

My point exactly... still no response from Mr. Snelling. Not good!

Coming up on one year since placing the order. Just got another short response from him... says he's waiting on parts. After a year??? Sounds like total BS!!

William is a good guy but yes, he has been on hard times for the last year or more.
But when it comes down to it, communication with the customer is vital, hard times or not. Sorry to hear you're having a hard time resolving this.
To others, I'd have to recommend against ordering from Tanneryshop at this time.

Sorry to be a thread necromancer here, but I've also had some problem with Tannery Shop. I sent a postal money order back last year for an 80% receiver and an AR15 charging handle, and never received the parts. For the first few months, he did pick up calls and respond to a few polite emails, but I've not gotten any response for some time now.

Technically, I could go to the USPS for mail fraud, since it was a postal money order, for which I still have the receipt. I don't really want to do that, though. I'd prefer to just have the receiver and charging handle. Heck, at this point, I'd rather have a bunch of raw receiver forgings than the 80%.
