OC + Long guns

I recently found out about the state's OC law (better late than never). And I think it is a great thing...

However,

Can this rule apply to long guns, so as long as they also aren't loaded?

Long guns are considered 'unconcealable' weapons and therefore you can open carry them without legal issue as long as you follow the other principles (unloaded, 626.9, etc.).

However, open carrying a longgun is hundreds of times more likely to attract attention and may elicit a harder police response. A person carrying a pistol has a view of someone trying to defend themselves from attack, a person carrying a longgun around might be seen as the next Charles Whitman.

1000 foot gun free school zone. You know... the one crimininals pay no heed to. The Calif version IRC doesnt include long guns- however the Fed requires them to be locked up.

Do NOT open carry until you FULLY and COMPLETELY understand the law regarding it.

There are a lot of nuances and protocols you should follow if you:

A) Don't want to get shot.

B) Don't want to go to jail.

C) All of the above.

Also, at this time it is advised that no one participate in UOC because of the negative media attention, which could hinder the current lawsuits that CGF is pursuing to get 2A incorporated along with CCW Reform and eventually LOC.

Got a link to a place with extensive information on CA OC? I'm just aware of the general CA OC rules.

And I'm not saying I want to go out and carry right now, either. I just want to be informed to the fullest extent.
