Sudden dramatic change in upper lead time. Normal?

I recently placed an order for a .458 SOCOM upper with an advertised lead time of "Six to Eight Weeks." When I asked the shop I ordered from about it today they told me that the lead time is now SIX MONTHS (their website is still advertising the incorrect lead time) and couldn't provide an explanation as to why. If I hadn't paid completely up front I would be a lot less angry

Is this normal? And would I be justified in canceling the order? There are a couple of AVAILABLE Beowulf uppers out there that look more appealing anyway.

If they told you 6-8 weeks and now they're saying ~25 weeks then yeah, I think you're justified in canceling the order.

I'd be pissed too....especially now that it seems much more AR stuff is available.

6 months will give you enough time to purchase brass and dies.

If you're waiting that long, don't get a .458 socom upper by RRA, order one directly from Marty. You'll be much happier.

The worst part..........they'll try to hit you for "re stocking fee's" on something that doesn't even exist yet.

Weird, I just experienced the exact opposite. LMT cut my lead time by five months...
