    Wife going for a gun

I talked my wife into getting a pistol to keep at home when I'm not there.

I WILL NOT be training her on the gun how to shoot or safety. Reason is i know I don't have the patience. While I can train her it wouldn't be the best way to get her introduced to guns. Not because I would be a bad trainer but I would miss stuff because being around guns for too long you tend to forget that not everyone has been around guns. i would much prefer for her to have the right training from the get go from someone who does it professionally .
Anyway who in orange county is best qualified to do training. Remember she doesn't need a high end counter terrorism training. just a basic shooting and gun safety course.
Anyone know of a range that has a class on that or a class for women etc?

Any ladies on the forum who can help me out
    Thanx
    Rob

3-hour basic firearms safety training classes available and open to the public. Security guard training and CCW classes available at both locations as well.

I totally agree. I've only starting shooting regularly for about 5-6 months (since around March). When I taught my friend back in May, I ran through EVERYTHING. When I taught my buddy's fiance just last week, I totally forgot to mention "this is the safety." I told her everything else, but that one totally slipped my mind.

Most gun ranges have basic safety and marksmanship classes such as Insight Range in Artesia:

On-Target has special intro classes for women only. I highly recommend it! That's how I got my (an ex-anti, BTW!) wife to start shooting, under the guise that she needed to know how to safely handle the firearms I have in the house. Now she begs me to let her go to the range!

You are a good man. Most spouses usually doubt their counter parts' gun training...especially when they start them out with a .44 magnum Desert Eagle.

I took a class at the Firing Line (as mentioned) and it was great. $75+ammo and she can sign up as a member to try out different types of guns for free. I also took Greg Block's class. I highly recommend either...or both.

yeah i couldnt do that to anyone. i dotn understand why people take a person who is not trained in guns and give them a big powerful handgun to shoot. I mean all you're gonna do is make the person gun shy and possibly hurt them. The whole idea of shooting is training and also for fun. If youmake something enjoyable and gun to do you're more apt to get that person to come back and shoot again. if you scare the crap out of them they wont come back and they will tell their friends not to go shooting.
Im getting my wife a light weight 357 or 38 revolver. Revolvers are easy to learn to shoot.

Thank you guys for the info. On target or firing line are both very close to me

I've taken the General Handgun class from Firearm Training Associates.
Concealed, ccw, concealed carry, firearms, pistol, shotgun, carbine, rifle, training, shooting, guns, handgun, gun, gun training, firearms training, pistol training,

They hold their classes at Raahauge's in Norco. It's quite a hike for me to get down there, but well worth it. I plan on taking their Advanced Pistol class in November.
