    Haz Mat Fee Increase?

MidwayUSA just charged me $32.49 for the Haz Mat fee for a few pounds of powder. Wow, used to be $20 not too long ago.

This is why you should buy powder locally rather than online, avoid that silly charge.

Thats why you should buy online in bulk to avoid the silly mark up at the local stores.

          Local store: $30/lb
          Online: $140/8lb

Doesn't exist locally and when it does it still costs more

I'm just wondering if this is a Midway thing or is it universal?

I noticed a few other online retailers increased the Hazmat fee a couple bucks but not as much as Midway did.

I just paid 22.50 Hazmat from Wideners. I would buy locally if anyone had powder!

Did you chose air shipping? I remember seeing that as a option and that was how much it was.

I don't know if Midway does like Cabelas but there I order *LOTS* of powder and primer all at once. Only one fee even if they are backordered and it comes in separate shipments. I found that out when I had a bunch of Cabelas gift cards I got from my credit card rewards program. My next test will be to see if I can add to an open order that charged the fee and has not yet been filled.

They list this on the bottom of a powder product page.

                      Attention!
Powder ships separately approximately 3 weeks after your order is placed. $22.50 Haz Mat plus $9.99 Shipping fees apply. Powder ships ground freight, 48 lb max and cannot be returned. Check local regulations. Adult signature required at delivery.
Add up the hazmat and the shipping and you get $32.49. Did they also charge you a separate shipping fee?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Missed it because I ordered from my wish list. That makes sense. For the few small items I purchased with the powder why not just make one shipment out of it instead of paying a whole other shipping fee? Three weeks for an available item

What's worse is that if you ordered primers with powder, they will charge your hazmat TWICE even if it's from the same order.

Called Midway today about the three week thing. They don't actually stock any powder. They have everything drop-shipped. That is why two different shipment charges. I'll have to remember that next time I need powder.

I was going to buy locally too, until I seen the price on unique (8lbs). They wanted 189.00 without tax.....I bought it online for 98 + 22.5 hazmat free....
I think my total was 128.00

Hopefully prices start to come down alot.....locally!
