    Coyote Pointe shooting range ???

I drove by the entrance to Coyote Pointe and noticed the $5 per vehicle entrance fee and was wondering if there are additional fees to pay at the range or do I just pay the $5 to get into the park? If there are additional fees, what is the breakdown?

I go all the time. Just tell the park rangers you're going to the rifle range and they wave you through, free of charge.

Mondays I go Fridays because it's a great way to end the work week.

By the way, what side do you mostly stick to? I only shoot the 22lr side.

I have brought my Spike's Tactical 22lr conversion before with no problems. Regarding centerfire ARs, you should wait for somebody to jump in with that answer.

I think RAWs are no problem, but OLLs are kind of grey area. Take them to Jackson Arms or Los Altos if you don't want to risk it.

No problem w/ non-AW EBR's as long as you explain that your guns are not AW to the guy at the window. I usually go once a month or so, but I much prefer to go to Chabot.

Shot on both side. Mostly on the big cal side. Super nice on a warm summer evening.

The range is kid friendly too! Well, as long as your child is there to shoot and/or respects that is going on. Excellent place to intro your child even if you go only to watch others the first time.

Yep, free parking for the range.

Been there 4 times already. No worries on BB ARs, just make sure if the guy at the counter is the somewhat chubby old guy, tell him you're shooting a 223 semi auto. Dont say AR, otherwise, he would ask for registration papers and you would have to explain to him you dont need one since what you've got a neutered AR.

When they ask what are you shooting? Dont respond "An AR". Since the AR-15 is banned by name, they will ask for your papers. Just tell them a semi-auto rifle.

Is it a rifle only range or do they allow handguns and shotguns?

It's primarily a rifle range, the only pistols allowed are .22 rimfire.
