Need gun shop name around Ridgecrest

There's a gun shop outside of Ridgecrest, CA that has a huge sign on 395 as you are heading north towards Ridgecrest. They boast something about having a large inventory.

Anyone know the name of the shop and location?

If you want to piss off a liberal and help a conservative, ship a gun to California.

But do they have many guns & ammo. PPT or used guns?

They have a pretty good selection of stuff. They have guns and and ammo and will do PPT's. I would not make a trip to specifically go there but I would go there if it was on my way.

                Here

Lots of new stuff. Nice selection of handguns.

Only dealer in town with a store front and easiest to get to (note that doesn't mean they're the best in town, but easiest to get to). Like all the other dealers in Ridgecrest, out of state transfers are really cheap (I think they charge $30 or so).

They don't know much or don't care much about C&R guns, so when C&R's come through his store on consignment they are usually a pretty good deal.

Only bad thing I have seen happen in the store was they refused a face to face PPT on a pistol because it wasn't on the CA roster. It was the first time I went in there and was not on Calguns yet so I didn't know the rules yet.

Deamer; how long ago was it that they would not do a face to face on non roster handgun? Their web site makes them look like experts, but your experience says otherwise.

I've gotten similar impression that they weren't too up to snuff on the ins and outs of CA dealer laws (beyond the basic buy / sell guns), especially just after they had opened. The store front is relatively new..been there only 3-4 years. However, they have gained experience by leaps and bounds, and even have a couple black rifles in stock (noticed a closed magwell AR on their shelf two weeks ago..bleach).

Jon's Guns and Frey's Gunshop are more knowledgeable, but they work out of their respective garages..which isn't a big deal if you're a local but they aren't set up for visitors to come through and browse (Frey's is maybe, but they are out for the next couple of months on their annual hunting trip). Jon's is OLL friendly and charges $10 to transfer a gun in (ends up costing same as a PPT).

Don't let that stop you from going into Guns4Us. They are still better than most of the dealers here in CA. They are nice folks (especially the girl) and have a great selection of firearms. They do good business..Ridgecrest area is very conservative and the valley is very well armed.

It was early 07 if I remember right. Two military guys came in to do a ppt on a walther P22. The guy looked it up and stated since it was a regular P22 and not the P22CA he couldn't do the transfer. The guys left the store and the worker remarked something to the effect of " they are probably still going to make the sale once they get back to the base"
I had been out of the gun hobby for a long time and didn't know the laws. That is actually the day I found out about the roster and OLL. Before I bought my Glock in 07, the last gun I had purchased was a 10/22 in 1991. guns4us had an AR on the wall and when doing research on them I found Calguns.

I do agree they are very nice people. I stop in there every few months and check our the new guns and shoot the pooh for a little bit.

Edit added: after above post I looked up the p22 and realized it had the issue with the threaded barrel and CA making them recall and fix them. I don't remember them discussing a threaded barrel but that might be why they refused the transfer.
