$1000 seems to be the current going rate.

        Cool thanx
Would you guys sell a M14 to get a Saiga 12? if I get the Saiga 12 i would also sell my pump action Mossberg 500. I' thinking of making a Saiga the go to all around shotgun and just keeping my savage and SKS. Savage for hunting and the SKS for regular shooting. i have O/U for hunting birds.
Anyway would you give up a M14 to get a Saiga 12? I don't plan on doing any modifications to the M14 as far as upgrades. it wont be a sniper/long range/tactical weapon. Ever.

It's really a question of what you're going to do with them, but personally, I wouldn't. Not just because I'm not terribly impressed with Saiga's, but also because even a Chinese M-14 is sort of an M-14.

A Saiga 12 is really just kind of a novelty item. Don't get me wrong, if I was trapped inside a zombie movie then a Saiga 12 would be my go to weapon. But the M14 might be the greatest firearm ever created in the history of mankind.

The going rate currently is a leg, but if you're good at bargaining it might only cost you an arm.

I would keep the mossberg for home defense. In that type of situation the conventional looking shotgun is going to look a lot better that one that looks like a big black AK-47. But that's just my opinion, and I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "go to shotgun"

Actually those Saiga 12s are really good for 3 Gun Competition.

                      M-14 beats saiga any day.

Basically i was thinking as my main HD, SHTF gun. I like having optional ammo to shot from non lethal to slug ammo in a semi auto.
                        Thanx for the advice guys.

If that is your decision you should keep the chinese m14, accuracy and reliability are superior. After market add ons are superior. I am not sure what you think you are going to gain with a saiga????

just the ability to hunt/defend different things in case it becomes my ONLY means of defense/offense. Also allows me to use different ammo from bird shot to slug ammo.
It was just a thought but the general consensus is to keep the 14.

Were I you, I'd keep the Polytech. OTOH, pm me if you're thinking of selling it.

                              Thx
