        Those are mine boots.

        We use them when sweeping for mines using a handheld detector. It displaces the weight of your body into a wider area with smaller points of contact with the ground, thereby lessening the possiblity of you stepping on one.

                Good job uxo2 and Soldier415 I forgot we have a bunch of active and retired mil members. This is where I got the pic from. Interesting amalgamation of weapons made from different countries.
