    What is it worth

    Hey guys
I bought a 44 mag a few months ago and am thinking about selling it cause I really dont shoot it. I only shot abotu 40 rounds through it since I bought it. How can I find what the gun is worth? its a Taurus model 44SS6
My neighbor was gonna buy the gun but he kind of weirded me out and my friend couldnt come up with the $$. i was gonna sell it for 400 but Id liek to get as much as possible for it. i think I paid close to 575 but I cant remember.

also a Ruker P89 9 mm.This is a lot older. i bought it a long time ago mabey8 years or so. its in decent shape some wear on the frame from being in a holster and the grips have scuff marks on them.

both guns are original no additional stuff on them

Im thinking of selling both guns and getting a .45

Let us hope our weapons are never needed --but do not forget what the common people knew when they demanded the Bill of Rights: An armed citizenry is the first defense, the best defense, and the final defense against tyranny. If guns are outlawed, only the government will have guns. Only the police, the secret police, the military, the hired servants of our rulers. Only the government -- and a few outlaws. I intend to be among the outlaws."

An older P89 in stock condition with some finish wear is going to go for $250 or so. Very clean used ones go for $300-350, depending on exact style (two-tone, etc). Resale value on the P series guns isn't great, since they go on sale a lot and aren't that expensive to begin with. Great guns, but definitely value guns.

Dunno about the Taurus, but I rarely pay over 75% of what a gun sells for new if it's used and very clean. Taurus' resale value isn't that great either, so knock a bit more off for that. If you can get $400 for it, that would seem reasonable. Here's one for $390, but it's not clear if it's the same model - http://beta.gunsamerica.com/Classifi...976810424.aspx

It's worth what an individual will pay. Do some market research. Check sites such as Gun Broker, Auction Arm, Guns America.
