Shop at Sears

Got this in an email, and thought others should know, especially for those who support our troops, but don't support their actions.


I got this after all my Christmas shopping, but I will try to go to Sear's (and you know that I'm not fond of them) to buy something soon.





Let's all show up at Sears

I assume you have all seen the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up...Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.

Suggest we all shop at Sear s, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves.

So I, decided to check it out before I sent it forward. I sent the following email to the Sears Customer Service Department:

I received this email and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your store. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item even if it was cheaper at the other store.
Here is their answer to my email.....................



Dear Customer:

Thank you for contacting Sears.

The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

wow. For once a major corporation that is doing its part to directly help those who sacrifice rather than trying to profiteer. Good thing (for me, not for my bank account) that there's plenty of good stuff to buy there, too.

I see dozens of 'day workers' loitering along the road by that Sears. I figure with a Home Depot opening up in that shopping center, it'll be like bringing a lit safety flare to a gas station.

That's great stuff from Sears.

Too bad my Sears (Antioch) is a Charlie Foxtrot that needs to be wiped off the map. Half the employees will look you in the eye when you ask for assistance and then continue to talk to other employees about personal matters, as if you don't exist. The other half act like they don't speak English. They group up, 3-5 in a bunch, talking loudly about things that aren't very professional and just stand around, or... you can usually find them sitting in the patio area at the tables.

This happened to me three times in the last year, once I was buying $3500 worth of garage organizer stuff. Once was for some various Craftsman tools, and last was for a second Craftsman 42" Roll Away. It's not like I was coming up with a screwdriver and being out of line asking for all kinds of customer service.

I spoke to the store manager about it twice, and the regional manager, they just don't care. So now I won't go into that store ever again, and I let them know that.

It means that if you are one of the LIBs who give the "we support the troops BS, we just don't support the war" line, here is their chance to put up or shut up.

Yeah, thats anywhere in SoCal, but at least they dont have taco trucks, fruit vendors and a mob of illegal alien riffraff hanging out front like the Home Depot a block away.

I was there tonight and bought a nice 7.5' Holiday tree. I always buy my good tools from them and will continue to now.

Thanks for sharing Sears' policy. I too, will shop at Sears more frequently.
