    Overpriced Turners

I just found an old at circa 2004.

Times we balked at the high prices Turners dared charge.

You should try to bring the ad into the store and see if they will still honor the prices.

Wasn't even that long ago. In fact those kinds of prices have been fairly constant since the 80's. It just shows how badly we've been overpaying since the Obama scare materialized.

$13.98 for WWB 100rd pack? Rip off. Walmart had those for $11-ish

as SCMA-1 said, the price was fairly constant. This is a thread about similar situation, except it was from Reed's in 1995.

Don't know when this ad was printed, but assuming that it was in 1995, CPI (annual average) was 152.4. In 2008 it was 215.303.

The formula for finding out the price in 2008 is
          price in 1995 * (CPI 2008/CPI 1995)

          so CPI 2008/CPI 1996 is 215.303/152.4 = 1.41(approximate)

To find out the 2008 price of the products in the catalogue, multiply by 1.41

          Browing HP would be $564
          Beretta would be $647.19
          Glock 17 would be $592
          S&W 686 would be $451

          1000 rounds of 9mm would be $239
          45 will be $310
          .223 will be $267
          .308 will be $465

So some guns are just about the same price, while some jumped up(Hi power and 686), and ammi price for 9mm is same, but for .223 it jumped way ahead, and .308, I don't want to talk about it.
Recently, I saw J&G sales ad, circa 2003. The price itself was killing me, except for 'hi-capacity' magazines.

It happened before the Obama scare. Supply disappeared for a while during that time and we saw some gouging, but ammo prices overall were not deeply affected.

Prices were already on the rise for the previous 18-24 months.

In fact, with maybe one or two exceptions (.45acp, which I still don't understand), ammo prices are on the same trend line that was happening before the Obama situation.

Man, I remember when American Eagle 9mm was my econo-plink ammo. Used to be able to buy 1000 rd. cases for about $120.

Now, it's "match grade" ammo selling for $15-17 per box! IIRC, Natchez was selling the AE 9mm for something north of $20!

Thank God I have my Dillon.

Turners is usually more expensive, except I just bought a Glock for $539 NIB.
