BCG getting stuck without buffer tube installed

Without buffer tube assembly installed and with the upper and lower mounted ot gets jammed up when pulling back. Any ideas what could cause this? When I release the upper withthe rear takedown it releases the body smoothly.

    Takeoff the buffer tube.
Put the upper on. Look thru the back to see if the upper and lower line up.

Upper and lower line up good. Seems the trigger hammer is sitting too high.

It's not meant to be operated in that manner. If you install the buffer tube, spring and buffer are you able to retract the charging handle as intended? If so nothing is wrong.

With everything installed correctly it pulls back with resistance but will not go forward until I release the rear takedown pin.

This sounds like a 80% lower with trigger pin location drilled incorrectly.

This is from factory. It's from badger ordnance. It's functioning OK now that I filed the hammer but still not great.

Do you have another functioning rifle? If so, start swapping parts, known good lower with upper and vice versa etc. Not unheard of to get a out of spec lower.

Yes, tried that first. All parts fit and functioned perfectly on a different lower.

Get quality components and you won't have issues.

It's a timney drop in trigger which is definitely higher quality.

Most likely cause is that the FCG is not installed correctly. Spring installed incorrectly is the most common problem.

There is no FCG since it is a drop in trigger it is all one unit. I have built hundreds of lowers, so I know how they are installed.
