Yes, anyone not prohibited may buy ammo online - IF you have it sent to a CA FFL for delivery and background check.

    OR, per PC 30312(c)(6)
    (c) Subdivisions (a) and (b) shall not apply to the sale, delivery, or transfer of ammunition to any of the following:
    ...
    (6) A person who is licensed as a collector of firearms pursuant to Chapter 44 (commencing with Section 921) of Title 18 of the United States Code and the regulations issued pursuant thereto, whose licensed premises are within this state, and who has a current certificate of eligibility issued by the Department of Justice pursuant to Section 26710.
you can buy ammo online and skip the CA FFL.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Just get your FFL03 + COE. It's a hassle but once you have them, its glorious, just like the old days, UPS driver delivers ammo to your porch. There is a nice curated list of ammo sellers nationwide in the Ammo/Reloading forum who will ship to FFL03 + COE holders here behind enemy lines.

        Yes.
If you are LEO a few places will ship directly to you..
FFL03 and a COE will also let you get direct shipping
Otherwise ammo has to be shipped to a FFL.

Keep an eye on websites for deals. Sportsman's just had a sale a little over a week ago on .45 ACP Federal American Eagle for $24.99 a box. Buy online and it is shipped to your local Sportsman's store for free.

As a matter of fact, yes.
Ammoseek should be your first go to. Prices are constantly fluctuating and even the suppliers I do like change their prices, or change shipping deals. It also varies based on caliber. Again, ammoseek at the least is a good litmus test.

I love that I can order ammo online and delivered to my door, but I am not behind enemy lines. Live in MO.
