This brings up a question. After a home defense situation and the police wanting to impound your weapon, what if you just said 'No, you are not going to take my home defensive weapon'. What are they going to do? Assuming that your home defensive situation was legit and you are not a suspect in a crime.
A few months ago, there was that case where the guy was walking up to his front door and a bad guy came up behind him. He then turned around and started shooting but did not hit anybody. The police wanted to confiscate his gun and he flat out said NO. As far as I know, he never turned it over. He did end up losing his CCW but I can't remember any other details.
