    AimSurplus is no longer trustworthy

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum section, please advise/move this thread.

Been a customer for almost 14 years now with AimSurplus, never had a bad interaction or experience prior to this year, albeit I only order from them 1-2 times a year.

Aimsurplus was notified multiple times that my order had not left the origin USPS center. After about 3 weeks past the estimated delivery date, I let them know that I still did not receive my order again. I contacted USPS, which verified that Aimsurplus had already received the claim and that they were refunded completely for their loss as a company. With me still being out of my money, I requested a chargeback via my credit card company. Aimsurplus was notified again, stating that USPS had refunded them completely confirming with me via email and Aimsurplus failed to contact me again letting me know that the issue was resolved. Aimsurplus feebly responded that since USPS resolved the claim and gave their company a full refund, they would "Send me a replacement." They then noticed that I performed a chargeback an entire month after the failed delivery, and told me that I was a customer they would not do business with again because I did a chargeback rather than "giving them a heads-up that I was about to request a chargeback." They continued to gaslight me like I was in the wrong, despite them failing to deliver my order for over a month and stated that chargebacks cost them more money -- even though they failed to resolve the issue prior to then.

Anyone else had a poor customer service interaction with this company?

You were early on the CC charge back in my opinion.

USPS lost your order. It takes time for USPS and AIM to get that sorted so AIM could send you a replacement, which you indicated would happen.

Chargebacks should only be a last resort. One issue (which was really a USPS issue) in 14 years shouldn't be a reason to do a chargeback with AIM...

I've bought a ton of stuff from Aim. Never had a issue.

I've had issues with USPS, UPS and FEDEX. I never blamed the vendor for a shipping company's issue.

Sometimes it takes time to resolve any issue.

Patience will usually yield a better outcome.

One issue doesn't make AimSurplus not trustworthy.

I agree - one month is too soon to start a chargeback. Chargeback is the nuclear option and will piss off a vendor big time. You use a chargeback 2 or really even 3 months after trying to work it out, not one month.

      And now you know...

Screw that. If they know I didn?t get my order after three weeks it?s their problem. That?s what shipping insurance is for. They can work it out between them and the shipper. It?s not my job to track down lost packages.

I?d want my money back after two weeks so I can get the part I need. Everyone?s covered. They shouldn?t get their panties in a wad.

I wouldn?t call AIM untrustworthy. Just slow and whiny.

Things can't always be perfect. I'm almost 65 years old, I've never made a single mistake my whole life 😉

In my opinion as soon as they were notified that he did not receive his order THEY SHOULD HAVE SENT A REPLACEMENT ORDER.
He was within his right because they failed to respond to him, for him to do a charge back, they F up.

And they were within their rights to never deal with him again.

AIM risks their entire business every time they send any firearms related product to a CA resident.

If you lived in a Free State, would you risk your livelihood on the capricious and arbitrary way California interprets firearms related
laws? If I lived in NV, I wouldn't send a picture of replica 1911 under class in the Smithsonian Museum to my best friend living in LA.

Save your energy and rattle the 2 weeks late financial cage of some anti2A biz instead.

If it was not a lot of money like under $1,000 should have would have waited. It's not their fault the shipper screwed it up and it does take some time to process and figure out. Many times the shipper refunds them for a lost package and it still shows up at the customer weeks later because it got stuck in a warehouse, weather delays, staffer left it on a truck somewhere or delivered to the wrong address and takes some time for the delviery driver to go back and pick it up once notified and deliver to the right address.

They would have made it right. AimSurplus has always been good. Never any problems.
