  • Need FFL to handle C&R transfer

I'm still waiting for my C&R, but I am concluding a trade, and need to transfer a C&R rifle. Can anyone recommend a FFL in the Ontario area that will receive the rifle from out of state?

    Thanks.

To hanko: I did read the law. It states: "A person need not be federally licensed to
collect curios or relics. However, the individual must be licensed in order
to lawfully receive curios or relics from outside his or her State of
residence." page 279 Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide

Read the law. If it's a long gun 50 years or older, a regular (01) ffl is not required. All you need is two adults, and the buyer can't be prohibited by law from owning a gun. It's DIY.

I think he still needs somebody with an FFL to receive the rifle since it is being shipped to him....

If it's coming from out of state
It will need to go to an FFL.
Unless you can wait till your C&R gets to you.

geebo, my apoligies, I just now saw the "out of state" reference.

My comment related to PRK law and a transfer between 2 PRK residents, NOT to an interstate transfer. Thanks for pointing out the error .
