I wonder how that works in California?sigpic

this is going involve a ffl to receive and send extra back. Sure that California would consider each shipment of your ammo back to you to be a separate shipment and after 7/1/2024 tax it 11% each time.
Also what protection will you have that the company won?t go bankrupt and you loose all your ammo and moneyComment

Very complicated, I do not understand how-why to comply, or how this is better. Kind of like joining a wine club.Comment

In 2024? Too late! if'n year a Callifornyan.
An 11% tax for all ammo sales, now, on top of sales tax?
One might have gathered a prudent stash before this tyranny..

The proposal to treat ammo as a commodity is nothing new, especially when it is comprised of brass, copper, and other pricey metals in the first place, combined with regulation and a dwindling source of manufacturers. I would say I fit the individual described as 'Phil' on their site.
But going through them to do that? Like an ETF or collective, or 'crowd-funding'? Just what are they making their money on? Subscription fees? Spread on prce? Or the holding of the funds and/or ammo exchanged meeting buyers with sellers while playing a ponzi liquidity scheme betwween the two?
No way, not a chance. Too much room for error, manipulation, scamming, and fudging books without ability to verify holdings - and I don't see how their pricing would be competitive considering the logistics involved.
Unlike gold or shares, somewhere someone must have their hands on the physical ammo in hock to make this work and be credible, meaning there are costs involved to do that part (transfer, shipping, storage). Gives open-rein to Sam Bankman Fried like games with the money in float.
Already well 'invested' in the arena for decades now, but were I to add more to my 'holdings' at this point, I certainly wouldn't do that in CA, and there is nothing stopping me from buying ammo in AZ and storing it at my property there. For that matter, private ammo sales there are neither taxed or restricted.
Buy as much as I want and sell as much as want and who's to say where it travels to when I do either.
Oops! Did I say the quiet part out loud? Was I on a hot mic?
Eat crap California - you suck.

Seems like a sound plan when times are good and if you don't really have a place to store ammo.
But if SHTF Dan Morton is going to have a HELL of a lot ammo to defend himself and his family bought and paid for by other people.I will stand for truth even if I stand alone.

A friend reminded me that Oregon is only a few hours north of San Francisco Bay Area AND there is no sales tax in Oregon. AND Nevada is even closer. "OMG, but, but the Ag station will take it all." is BSComment

The AG station on 80 in Truckee is a joke. Most of the time it is not even maned at all. I have been only stopped once and they asked me if I was hauling any fire wood into California.Comment
