    sbr and wills

Am I correct in thinking that one may not pass down/will a suppressed sbr to a Calif resident? Even a direct family member? Thx...and no, I do not live here in Cal

That is correct, you will need to have someone in your will who lives in a state that allows both. As long as the are in your will/trust they can transfer tax free.

ATF form 5, tax free transfer of nfa item to an heir that can legally own them in their state of residence.

A CA resident submitting an ATF Form 5 for a Title 2 SBR will be denied by the BATFE, unless the CA resident includes proof that they have a valid CA DOJ Dangerous Weapons Permit for SBR.
A CA resident submitting an ATF Form 5 for a Title 2 Silencer will be denied by the BATFE, unless the CA resident includes proof that they have a valid FFL/SOT.

        Technically...
A CA resident that is a FFL/SOT and has a CA DOJ Dangerous Weapons Permit for SBR can legally obtain a Title 2 SBR via inheritance (ATF Form 5); then register it with CA DOJ BOF, register where it will be stored with CA DOJ BOF, register what vehicles will be used to transport it with CA DOJ BOF, pay the yearly inventory fee for it, utilize it in a manner that meets the reason why they were granted a Dangerous Weapons Permit for SBR, and summit annual reports to CA DOJ BOF on how it is being utilized in CA. Then be subjected to CA DOJ BOF inspection audits to ensure that it is being utilized properly and stored/transported properly.
^Improper use equates to any type of recreational shooting, target shooting, competition shooting, and self defense activity. If discovered it is being used improperly or stored/transported improperly, then the CA FFL/SOT will have their Dangerous Weapons Permit revoked and their entire inventory confiscated/destroyed.
