    cfars numbers

I seldom get into my CFARS account...(ie like never) si i tried to get in to obtain a Serial number but when i eneered my user name and passowrd it said my password had expired so i tried to update, then sent a message to my email andi copied the long web jargon they sent and lut it in the appropriate splace and then i got a message stating that it hasd expired so i tried again adn then it locked me out adn i cant get passed the "locked out" message...they directed me to contact them and i get 1-9 prerecorded options none of which tell me how to unlock my account....I sent them an email a month or so ago stating my problem with no response......im begining to think this is a means to slow or eliminate firearms business in the state.....how can i unfreese my account?

It took me 3 days to receive an email back, letting me know my account had been unlocked.

sometimes it is just what it is, nothing nefarious. last year it took 30 days to get my clean air decal. for my recent purchase, i've waited over 6 weeks and nothing yet.

Message them again. CFARS is annoying about password updates and mine had to be tied to a weird email I never use for some reason I don’t remember any more.

The application for CFARS SS number request states that you will have to include a downloaded copy of your drivers license....how do most down load a copy...scan and attach or digital photograph and attach or is there another way?

Scan or digital photo in .jpg format has always worked for me.

Had similar issue with CFARS. Sat down at my computer on a rare week day off with a lot of time. Went through their torturous phone menu until I got an option to talk to an actual person. She was very pleasant and straightened out problem in minutes. Total time was about 30 minutes, I was prepared to spend hours.

Just call them. I was on hold for about 10 minutes got a nice lady on the phone to help me out. She stayed on the line till I was able to log back in.

You have to be careful copy/pasting the link from email. They always append a period to the end but you have to leave that off

I'll have to settle in and try it again, I call the "Call Us" line and I get a choice of 9 Prompts, when choosing one of them I gets 9 options or and none of which fit my question exactly ....id like to quickly find the one that says "talk to a person"

I noticed that as well when I reset my cfars password yesterday to see what happens before responding to this thread.
I noticed that because you have to copy the URL from the email, you accidentally get that period at the end that is there in the template they use to send you the link.
The period is at the end of the sentence and is not part of the actual URL but when you copy the URL, you end up with the period attached to the end of the URL and that potentially makes the URL bad in a web browser.

Most automated systems will direct to a person if you press 0

                              CFARS NUMBERS

Okay I finally got through to DOJ using the number posted on the Cfars contact ...the trick was to call the number then listen to the 9 prompts 2-3 times then you will be connected to a waiting list to talk to a real person....the first time I called at 1pm waited 2 hours on hold..screw it and hung up, second time i called at 8:01 am and waited 9 minutes and talked to some one...

Now my question is if I want to request X multiple numbers do I have to fill out the form X multiple times, or can i request the X multiple numbers in the comment section....

I had read somewhere that it is $46.19 for the first number and if requested at the same time the subsequent numbers are $15..
