I've had a couple "odd" encounters with Outdoor Sportsman - but they'll do a PPT transfer for $35.. They won't transfer anything that smells like "AR" and they don't honor LE letters without "MAKE / MODEL / SERIAL # / THIS WEAPON WILL BE FOR DUTY USE" written on the letter..

I try to stay away. Go another 10 miles north and talk to Alan at Professional Firearms. Excellent dude.

This is the info that is supposed to be on the letterhead. Some FFLs will accept it with out the required info but that is for them to explain to the inspector come audit time.

          Incorrect.

Penal Code does not require it. As a matter of "CYA" practice? Thats the call of the FFL.

In Stockton go see Stockton Gun Exchange, Gary will treat you right and he doesn't mind doing PPT's. He's quick at it too. $35.00. Been in Stockton for over 25 years.

I did a transfer once with a FFL named Dan Batty in Ripon. Sells guns and is a locksmith IIRC, 209 599 1975.

I've had just the opposite experience. You couldn't pay me to go to professional firearms again. When I was looking to buy a Kimber he wouldn't give me the time of day. I ended up buying it from Outdoor sportsman.

If I HAVE to do a transfer in Lodi it's at Nicks. No exceptions.
