I was hoping you gys could help me with some questions I couldnt find on Hornadys website.
What exactly is TAP ammo? I compare ballistics to their varmint rounds and they seem the same and the ballistics on their defensive handgun ammo is the same as the standard XTP rounds from them.

thats what i keep reading but that doesnt matter much to me. The bullet itself if what im curious about. Is there anything special about the bullet or is it just a VMAX?

They're just using the V-Max, except in the 75gr ammo which is using their OTM/BTHP.

If you want a self defense load, just get some 75gr Hornady BTHP or 77gr SMK/Noslers and use around 24.0gr Varget/RL15.
