Hodge rd is not BLM(what is it?)

    Hi,

Here is the map that I believe what makes us able to shoot in hodge road, link here is from SB park website:

If you look at the BLM website:

You can see that the hodge road is NOT part of BLM land. This might be old to you but a lot of my friends believe its a BLM land.

BLM land not necessarily mean you can shoot or do whatever, still have to follow county's regulation. Look at west of Victorville and surrounding area, they are part of BLM but in no shoot area(purple).

If I recall correctly it's private land made available to shooters by the owner.

It's private land as others have pointed out. The owners have threatened to block access because people were alwaays shooting the radio tower right off the freeway, and leaving trash of course.

I LOVE Hodge road!!!! It?s where everybody goes and gathers en mass to shoot and be watched!

            …except me.

Hodge road keeps everyone else away from me in seclusion and where I go to shoot in total peace and serenity.

Thank you Hodge road user sheeple!

They moved the tower across the freeway (east side, non-shooting area) a few years ago.

Hodge Road is a filter for people too lazy to drive an extra 30 minuets to a better spot.

Nice. Shows how long it's been since i've been. Never liked the vibe there. But it was nice as an option for a time.

That seems crazy to me. Has anyone ever been shot there (accidentally or otherwise)? I would think the liability involved in allowing unsupervised people onto your land to shoot firearms would be astronomical.

Ooh gawd no! I only went there a handful of times, and the amount of stupidity going on at any given time meant packing up and leaving within minutes.

I really miss all the secluded spots we used to go to up off of Angeles Crest waaaaay far away from the highway. Spent many days up there in the '70s. But when they forced only designated shooting areas, it all went to hell. So many negligent shootings that even the sheriffs and CHP would avoid going in those areas.

Definitely had to watch your back (or to your side) there.

No "cease fire" while setting up targets.

                              Good times then.

I also remember Burro Canyon Shooting Park before it was developed and free in the early 1980s. I also remember rival gangs having shootouts there and on 39.
