    Best Ammo Storage??

I am looking to see if you guys have any personal recommendations on ammo cabinets or best methods to store ammo? Space is an issue as I don't have much anymore at the moment, mainly looking to store a few thousands rounds, I saw this one made by Hornady which would have been the perfect size but it looks like it is discontinued

Just go buy any CA approved gun "safe" like you can get at WalMart for $150 or so lockable plus you can bolt it to a wall. Not as many shelves as the cabinet pictured but plenty of room to stack ammo cans galore.

Mine is in .50 cal ammo cans. Labeled and stacked. Sorting out this morning. To add more. 10 cans not enough.

          Ammo cans with dissicant.
Blue painters tape on the handle for label.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Numbered .50 cal ammo cans. Data in Excel spreadsheet. Lets me sort by caliber and get round count. Also lets me see how far 5.7x28 has gone up in price.

I keep ammo in the factory cardboard boxes it came in, then put into surplus metal ammo cans, then into a Sears metal cabinet in the garage. I need more ammo cans, and another metal cabinet though.

I?ve got about a dozen of these (ACR8) I use and mark with blue painter?s tape, along with regular ammo cans. The crates stack nicely but can get heavy. Also, the larger crates (ACR12) are also nice to store other gear like holsters, spare AR parts, magazines, etc. but are too large to move if you?re using them for ammo.

Before I transitioned into using the crates, I used one of the Ridgid job boxes from Home Depot. It worked out well and was lockable but not portable.

20mm ammo cans. Holds plenty in each can and they stack well. Keep an eye out in the classified section as some buy in bulk from DLA (previously known as DRMO) and resell them.

For long term storage, I would pay more attention on how to seal the containers tightly (RH control) than how to stack them.

When using USGI type ammo cans, the bigger the can the more it's going to weigh. The larger cans for me just get to heavy.

In ammo cans on steel shelves labeled using the Avery label templates makes it easy to keep track of everything then keep a numbered count in a spreadsheet along with cost.

I need more space though another shelf is in the plans.
