    Northern CA Shooting Ranges

    Hello,

Does anyone know of any ranges in Northern CA that will allow you to run drills and practice with a group?

Northern California is a massive area. You mean like San Francisco or Eureka or Sacramento or Redding?
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

BLM out near Indian Valley. Or find someone with acres of private property away from people.

Sacramento Valley Shooting Center will let you rent out a range. I've been in classes there and it seemed like random groups of people would rent an adjacent range.

You have to be a member to do that.

And becoming a member (the voting category that grants you the ability to rent or use those action bay ranges) is an insurmountable task. They have the quantity of members capped at 1,911 people and even if you were to jump through all their mystical requirements to apply, attend all their meetings, and labor to "improve" their range, you would still be stuck in a years long wait list. I would recommend you try to find an already existing member to invite you to use it.

Exactly where are you, and how far are you willing to travel? NorCal is a pretty big area.

OP is talking about joining a group to do drills. There is a group that meets on the third sunday each month at SJ field sports. They rent out the 200yd range. I think the group is call Silicon Valley Action Shooting or Pistol. This month, it's happening on Nov 12.

San Francisco is >5 hours south of me and I'm in California. SF isn't Northern California. And really, neither is Sacramento.

That far north (5 hrs puts you damn close to Oregon), your best bet is likely to find open space. I have no idea about finding/forming a group of like-minded shooters, though.

It won't be long before the crime and urban decay in San Francisco make it one big free fire zone...the only problem is that the homeless and drug addicted don't usually move fast enough to make it very good sport...

Hush now, let them believe Northern California ends in sac or sf.
