    sig 226 or ak clone?

I wish I could get both but ak's in cali are $800-1000 even if I get a cheap one from somewhere else the transfer fees are alot.

So my choice is either a sig 226 in 9mm or an ak in 7.62x39.

Also this will probally be my last firearm purchase the gun bug has finally finished.

The ak apeals to me because:
    It looks cool
    the hard hitting caliber
    the reliability

The sig apeals to me because:
Its sorta a good looking handgun
    9mm is cheap
    Its accurate/reliable

    Possible cons for ak:
I already have an AR(is that a con?)
its not accurate(or not accurate enough compared to AR agian(???) Im not sure ive never shot an ak.

    Possible cons for sig
    Ill never have an ak!

If you get an AK consider one in 5.45x39 (cheap ammo).

I have nothing helpful but you've lost all credibility with the words: "the gun bug has finally finished."

How about a cheap 225 (p6) and a saiga. Should total up nearly, to your budget.

Other than that, which would you prefer shooting, a pistol or a rifle? Go with your gut on that one, as you'll end up picking the firearm you'll enjoy shooting more.

If you don't already own a pistol get the pistol.

What kind of AK are you looking at? You can get a WASR 10 for $500-550
            try here. At lanworldinc.com.

Find a decent FFL and the transfer fees are anywhere from $65-45 or so.

That being said, I would probably go with the AK first and buy the Sig later on. I just love the .30 "effect."

That AK pistol is for fun. That Sig would be for business. Pistol for me is for backup, concealment. You can't really conceal the AK, really too big for a backup and unless you put a stock on there or shoot from a bench, never as accurate as sig.

I vote for the Sig, try to find a stamped slide though.

If you already have an AR then the Sig is the way to go.
