Yeah, and actually have. I'm pretty sure unloaded carry of a rifle (concealed vs open doesn't apply to rifles in CA by the way) is legal in CA.

I open carry my rifle everywhere at my ranch. I even carry a rifle sometimes when I go to the neighbors, they don't care we are all gun owners anyways. I carry it because we have problems with predators after the animals but it's mostly just for fun

I would open carry a rifle everywhere, every day. unless I would be engaged in something that wouldn't allow me to be in complete control of the rifle. Let's see someone rob a gas station or a bank when I'm standing behind them with the AR on the single point CQB sling.
