    Popular Mechanics Magazine

Leafing thru the Sept '09 issue of PM, I was surprised to see a full page gun ad! It's a picture of a hand opening a desk drawer to reveal a pistol & magazine.

Text: Reach For the World's Finest Firearms.
Built for America's Forces. Built for You.

Nice surprise! I have a new respect for PM.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

I remember seeing a S&W ad for the SW99 (Walther P99 clone) a couple years back.

They used to actually run stories about guns in the magazine. My first exposure to Cowboy Action Shooting was an article in PM.

They had ads for Ruger and Henry on a regular basis in the recent past.

I recall numerous articles about GI weapons during Vietnam. First I ever heard of the M16, was in Pop-Mech.

...also flechettes, napalm, B52's, Claymore mines, and who exactly were the VC. Crazy stuff in that mechanics mag

But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

I remember a past issue where a letter was griping about articles on guns and gun adds. I think the owner or editor told him to sit 'n spin, it's his magazine.

Yeah, if my memory serves me correctly PM has always been friendly to us gunners.

With the state of advertising sales these days, I wouldn't be surprised to see that ad in a copy of The Economist. ;-)
