    DROS Kicked Back Question

What's up Calgunners I was hoping someone had some insight on my predicament.

I completed the purchase of a handgun on the 12th of Sep and foolishly attempted to buy a centerfire rifle on the 24th. I wasn't aware that they had changed the law back in 2021.

Got a call from my FFL saying my DROS had been kicked back and that I could try again on the 24th of Oct.

My question is do I have to wait until the 24th of October or can I dros on the 12th?

30 days from last DROS attempt is how the law is written...so likely 10/24 or 10/25 depending on the time...

I'm not sure if it'll work for you on 10/12...i guess you can risk it, but if you get rejected again then you'll be waiting until mid November + be out additional fees.

Take the 2 extra weeks of waiting period that you created for yourself and use it to get yourself an 03FFL and a COE so that you no longer have to worry about the 1-in-30 rule.

If you have an 03FFL and a COE, you are EXEMPT of the 1-in-30 rule.

Also note that starting next year, 1-in-30 applies to all firearms so it won't just be handguns and semi-auto centerfire rifles.

You may also want to search out the engine behind this lawsuit and pitch in to their funding of it. It's already underway to put an end to this retardation.
