Thank you. If the upper is a Colt it looks like the HBAR Competition model.
If it is, you'll know in a hurry. I had a Competition HBAR. It had a big honking heavy barrel.

99% it's a Colt. I don't know of any non-Colt uppers that were made that fit on a Colt lower of that vintage.

It is a Genuine colt upper..The AF in front of Alcoa Forge, the C designates it was made for Colt. Cerro forge is a keyhole. It will be a big pin front lug.

Yes more than likely it is a A3 match target competition upper. It could also be a transitional model and could be factory original..stuff like that exists directly from Colt.

If you are in Ca, the other issue is the Colt HB Sporter is a named assault weapon.
Colt competition HBAR Sporter had a detachable handle, I own 3 of them. The Match HBAR Sporter had an A2 upper Ive owned 2, could be HBAR upper on target lower. Or a different upper? I bought my Blue label Sporters in the 90's at B&B sales in Westminster , they ranged from $600-$800ish for the Comp HBAR'S

I bought a 6601 HBAR in 1993 and it cost $725, It had a 20” A2 upper with filed off bayonet lug.

I eventually sold the upper and lower separately and made some $.

              Colt HBAR Sporter info needed

The barrel is Colt with a 1/9.

              It says

              C MP 5 56 NATO 1/9 HBAR

Has a flash hider. No wonder my buddy wants to get it out of his house.

What have I got here? I saw a Sporter Competition match in an auction with the same upper but with a CH and not an MH serial like this one.

Colt Frankenrifle with those transitional uppers as you guys mentioned? (Thanks!)

Perhaps this is a true 55 grain V-max queen.

There is a thread about these barrels here:

I think it might be this rifle or at least the upper is.

So I have a scope on my Rem700. Think it?s a 16x. Do you mount these on the rail per normal or on top of the rail with that Leupold rail insert?

I have a Match Sporter with a serial number 15K higher than that one. Mine has a fixed carry handle.

A real head scratcher. My guess is that is a competition upper on a match lower. MH being the match serial prefix and all the markings on the lower indicating match.
