Apex Tactical Action Enhancement Trigger S&W M&P Shield

I purchased this trigger for my Shield 9mm, the pre-installed pivot pin was
supposed to allow the trigger bar to "snap-in" for ease of installation. It wasn't,
and the pivot pin won't budge as if it's machined in - it's mushrooming!.

Any tips or advice? I'd like to avoid damaging the trigger.

I'm using a hammer and punch identical to those used on installation demo video.

I realize this probably doesn't help you at the moment. But if you can't get this sorted, call Apex. Their customer service is pretty solid.

It is a absolute pain to get the right alignment for the "assembly" pin to push thru. Keep wiggling and playing with it. It will push thru with hand pressure when it is right, not until

Wasn't it suggested to use a vise in the video?
I used a vise for mine and it was pretty simple after some finessing.

              Good call, I'm absent-minded...

Put it in the vice and heard a "pop" to push the pin. Apex video on Midway
did not suggest vice, just tap in with hammer. Thanks LAKA, much appreciated.

DO NOT USE A PUNCH to drive the trigger pin in the Apex aluminum trigger!!! I’ve done six of these installs and five of them went perfectly. Guess what I used the one time it didn’t work?

As mentioned above, use a vise or screw press and it’s effortless. I used a universal sight pusher.
