I have to send a bolt action out for re-barrel. Going back to smith. I have 03 FFL and CA COE. I remember there being some news on how FedEx and UPS handle shipping firearms these days. Any update to this? Maybe I can send via USPS though.

Any Word on Shipping?

See the bold part. I have not done it, but it's perfectly legal.
-P? "If you want nice fresh oats, you have to pay a fair price. If you are satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse, well, that comes a little cheaper."

Yes box it up and take it to your local PO. The counter people are .gov liberals with no clue on the rules - If they ask "what it is" just tell them steel parts. )3 & COE is not a factor anyone can mail a rifle and it's also 100% legal for the smith to ship the repaired gun back to you at home. PS if you need to send a handgun use shipmygun. They send you a label and you basically become an agent of Bud's Guns who is the actual shipper so no hassle with "private party" shipping.Comment

Alright, thanks. I've shipped long guns before via UPS without issue. But that was before they threw a hissy fit and changed their rules. Also there might be a nation-wide UPS strike coming up so it's probably best to avoid them anyway.Comment

Use shipping easy site. I have saved money using them. I am shipping three bp revolvers and a rifle now. 25 bucks with insurance. You can use usps and shipp direct but now surcharge over 36 inch package.Comment
