    High desert/Victor valley training courses?

    Route 66/avgc

Anyone been to route 66 or apple valley gun club for training? Which one did you prefer or how was your experience? Been a while since I've had some formal training being up in the high desert is pretty easy to get trigger time on blm land so been slacking.
I would like to join avgc as it's pretty dang close but the required volunteer hrs are a no go with my work schedule
Also any other ranges that offer training in the area ?

Last time I heard of fantastic firearms training in your area was being held at 29 Palms Marine Corps Base. Their still might
be a 3 month selection process at MCRD San Diego that has also been reported to be a blast at no extra charge.

The Fresno/Bakersfield area has great USPSA & IDPA events with traveling trainers stopping in on a regular basis.

You can pay instead of doing the work at AVGC. There are weekend and evening opportunities to do the volunteer work as well. Or just pay the $100 a year for not doing any. I am retired and would not mind meeting up to shoot there in the early AM before it gets hot during the week. You can be my guest.

Most of the courses and matches there are open to the public.

I passed 1/2 dozen excellent outdoor ranges in AZ last week.

Every one was empty and looked abandoned. 118 degrees will do that.

I was a member of AVGC for almost 20 years, excellent facility. I never did the vol work either, I just paid the extra $100 yearly.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Go ahead and send me a message. With the current heat wave, though, even starting early is hot! We usually cool off more at night, but it is only getting to 68/69 by 6 AM and starts climbing immediately!
