Nice. Was it an arm and a leg? I heard 2.5 are up there now these days.

        I'm sure it's a good amount. I sold a S&W 586-4 2.5 inch barrel for over $3000 last year.

Took me 2 1/2 years to find the 2 1/2. Found this one on Gunbroker. Got it from Lock Stock and Barrel in Simi Valley. Great folks to work with.

Yes they are good. Even though they charge 20-25 % for selling your guns. I have bid on a few handguns with them, but always got outbid.

K frames S&Ws are great shooters.

Nice. Those pre’ lock 3” 66 are hard to find. The best packin’ wheelgun you could want in my opinion with a 3” barrel you can drive tacks and a full length ejector rod you can clear brass from the cylinder easily .I know they made small batches of them over the years but can’t remember what years they came around. I’m sure Lew Horton was involved in distribution.
I think they made the 3” 66 again but stay away from the post lock guns they have no soul and are a shell of what a S&w was in the 80’s and behind.Timing issues from the factory, pressed in barrel castings with cant barrels, sights out of true, excess cylinder flame cutting from rear sight screws not being machined to length etc..

This particular 3 inch was made in 1988.

Very nice collection of model 66's. I have seen more of the 2.5" guns for sale than I have of the 3" guns. At one time I had a 2.5", 4", and 6", but couldn't find a 3" one and ended up trading off the 4" and 6" guns. You still need to find a 6" model though.

                            Yup.

OP...get the 6" version and complete the set.

                            Nice guns BTW.
