Talk to me about the Glock 20sf 10mm ~

What has been your experience with the Glock and 10mm round

Do you use it for SD / CC or is it a range gun.

    Thank you

It’s a woods gun. Generally too expensive to shoot as a range toy unless you reload and good luck finding your brass 20’ away. It’s large and beefy. Very overkill for ccw. Mine serves for HD and carry when I’m hunting in the boonies. I carry mine in a binocular holster rig.

I don’t shoot it as well as my 9mm guns. It takes some practice. I was sure everything I did with my 9mm would transfer right over to immediate skills. It didn’t. Lol. It’s not harsh at all. I think I’m just anticipating the shot.

I spend a ton of time outdoors and I absolutely love that thing. It’s perfect for two and four legged critters and you can actually hunt with it. When I’m hunting I have the very bad habit of leaving my rifle in the truck while I do a multitude of tasks like opening ranch gates, glassing, taking a leak etc and that’s always when an animal walks right by ten feet away. So in a pinch I can take a shot.

Thank you - I love getting out and walking the woods, lots of great scenery.

I always like the caliber, it seems very versatile with 135gr to 220gr.

You have a great description on the G20 / 10mm.

I got mine to cover me in the woods as my Kimber 10mm has too many jams. After breaking in the trigger with lots of rounds its now one of my favorites to shoot. I shoot it well and last week did range drills of 3 targets, 3x3 body with 2 head shots. under 7 seconds. It definitely goes where you point it every time! I was considering using it with a red dot but it doesn't really need it. I might add a light and have it bedside but wont CCW with it due to size.https://i.imgur.com/jdSplK0.jpg

It’s a lot of fun - eats .40 S&W too. Love the size of the gun an easy to handle but with my medium sized hands I do have to adjust slightly to reach the magazine release. The 10mm is a heck of a round! It might sound funny but I got it to replace my 9mm carbine. It’s not really a dedicated house gun, but more of a, “if I need to step outside of my house” gun.

I bought one for a woods gun. The grip is large on it though but holds 15 rounds.

I have a Gen 4, not an SF.
Its purpose is as others have said. It's my sidearm when I'm hunting, because there are a lot of bears around.
After about 1,000 rounds, the only ammo I've had a problem with is Sellior & Bellot, possibly due to bullet shape. All jams have been feed related. Federal, Armscor, and Sinterfire have been great. I even shot a box of Double Tap 200 gr solid lead.
              I like it.

I really like this cartridge and I can see why people would carry one in brown bear country. Twice the ammo with a hec of a punch.

I've found that a stick, rock or frying pan work best for black bears

I haven't ran more then 500rds through my 20sf, but every single one of them went bang.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

True about the black bears. So far, but you never know. They usually run away from the house when the dogs bark.
Don't take away my justification. 😉

One of my carry guns is a Glock 29 with Clipdraw and trigger block
10 rds in pistol 15 rd mag in pistol. 180 grain Underwood in the mags.
Own a 20 with regular slide and long slide conversion.
It's my H.d., Back woods, boat carry Pistol
You can shoot 40S&W no mods
If running full power loads a 21lb spring in the Glock 20 is a must.
Reloading is bonus not many stores stock 10mm.
I order a Underwood selection for carry other than that awesome pistol. Possibly one of the most versatile rds on market.

Fun gun to shoot. I got it for a woods gun as well. The Ruger Alaskan was too much and the .45 wasn't enough. Still looking for a Glock 40 though

So right....all of my encounters have been good (the same with brown bears) but like you said.."you never know" and it's best to be safe then dead

I've got the regular 20 on my permit. It's been a minute since I wandered the Trinity River but who knows? Better than a .22 Ruger.

Once had an "experience' on the river while carrying a .22 Ruger. Didn't like it.

Love it. My most favorite handgun to shoot is my g20.

I got some ammo from Sportsman's Warehouse a while back, it was S&B for 34cpr, it was either a pricing mistake or a flash sale. Nevertheless, I enjoy shooting it. No issues.

I even shoot 40sw through it, no issues.

The S&B is on the hotter end of the box ammo brands for 10mm, still a far cry from Buffalo loads though.

Get one! If you can handle a 45acp, you can do hotter 10mm loads.

It's also my woods gun, but I do plan on putting it on my ccw because I can.
