This topic takes me way back to 1985 when one of the very first gun mythbusting, educational video was released.
Titled " Deadly weapons : firearms and firepower" it covered almost everything from actual stopping power demonstrations of all the common calibers, how car gas tanks don't just blow up like hollywood, how even 50 caliber bullets can be deflected by a branch, the actual effects of shooting through car doors and car windows, a very nice homemade 50 caliber rifle, two men shooting each other with pistols, like .44 Magnums and .308 rifles while wearing different levels of Second Chance body armor (successfully) and a bunch of other interesting things while adding a touch of 1985 type humor and style.
But of course they also had a Mac M-11 inside a briefcase, with a suppressor, activated by a lever. To see that in action go to 1:34:00 Mark of the free YouTube video linked below.
But if you have the chance to watch it and remember the '80s or know someone who wants to know more about firearms, and what they can and can't actually do, I think it's still a good place to start.

The big difference is you don't need a machine gun for this case, just one with a trigger.
By coincidence I recently saw a video on the PSA 5.7.Comment

During the 1970s, CA banned them (firearm container that can allow the firearm to discharge while inside the container via external container controls) as part of the Generally Prohibited Weapons laws due to being a "camouflaging firearm container" [PC 16590(f), 16320, 24310].
In order to be CA legal, the case needs to be a BATFE approved Title 2 AOW. [PC 17710(a)]
Penal Code 16590
As used in this part, "generally prohibited weapon" means any of the following:
(f) A camouflaging firearm container, as prohibited by Section 24310.
Penal Code 16320
(a) As used in this part, "camouflaging firearm container" means a container that meets all of the following criteria:
(1) It is designed and intended to enclose a firearm.
(2) It is designed and intended to allow the firing of the enclosed firearm by external controls while the firearm is in the container.
(3) It is not readily recognizable as containing a firearm.
(b) "Camouflaging firearm container" does not include any camouflaging covering used while engaged in lawful hunting or while going to or returning from a lawful hunting expedition.
Penal Code 17710
(a) The provisions listed in Section 16590 do not apply to "any other weapon" as defined in subsection (e) of Section 5845 of Title 26 of the United States Code, which is in the possession of a person permitted to possess the weapons under the federal Gun Control Act of 1968 (Public Law 90-618), as amended, and the regulations issued pursuant thereto.
Penal Code 24310
Except as provided in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, any person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, lends, or possesses any camouflaging firearm container is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.Last edited by Quiet; 07-06-2023, 3:02 PM.sigpic

^^^ stormvet : "Man got to love the 80?s, guys shooting themselves/each other while wearing armor point blank with a 308!!!"
Did you notice he was standing on one foot while getting shot with it FAL .308 rifle, and from about 4 ft away!
Those guys were doing way worse than Johnny Knoxville stunts way before Jackass TV show stunts.
and he only stood on one foot to prove a point that the bullet itself doesn't knock you down like in Hollywood movies.
That part of the video is around the 13:00:00 minute mark.
And the other guy used to shoot himself in the chest with a 44 Magnum revolver so many times to demonstrate his body armor that as you can see in the video he's learned to put a telephone book underneath the armor so he does get bruised ribs.
Oh the '80s were wild.Comment
